This includes maintenance patching and site refreshes as and when required. This also includes work in data centers to ensure the upkeep of the estate. The network engineer is required to have had 4+ years of enterprise network knowledge and used to working in dynamic large environments.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESSupport the global network across various disciplines and become subject matter expert for one or more areas within the network including LAN/WAN/Wireless/Security/VOIPWork with global IT teams and management, supporting the network across the full project life cycle including proof of concept, design, procurement of Network hardware/WAN, configuration, installation, testing, documentation, and ongoing monitoring/supportLead multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish including site launches and refreshes. These can range from 50 users on-site to 1000 users on-siteProvide 3rd level Network support for Sites and DCs across various networking disciplines this include the two primary datacenters located in Las Vegas and DublinPerform network patching, maintenance, and configuration changes as part of the change management/control processManage and maintain network tools and proactively monitor and troubleshoot the networkPerform root cause analysis of incidents and provide corrective actionsLocal and international travel required based on project assignment and maintenance. (25%)Proactively watches emails for alert notifications from the service desk and resolves or escalates these as requiredA good understanding of VOIP and protocolsProvides change management support during the weekend when on callActively participate, enforce, and follow DP Worlds Change, Incident, and Problem management processes Willingness to devise creative solutions to solve complex problems and issuesPerform consistently and contributes beyond the assigned tasksAttending Change Management calls (CAB – Change Advisory Board) calls and present all changes and respond if challenged to any Requests for Change (RFC)Dedicate themselves to learning and improve upon the existing methods of carrying out Network Engineer functionsConsistently work with their team and internal and external customers in a professional mannerQuantity and quality of work, work with their team and internal and external customers, to maintain their technical skills to match future requirements of the positionProvides technical recommendations to client systems administrators and application ownersResponsibility to prioritize tasks with input from managers and senior technical support engineersLiaises with other teams within DP World to ensure the customers are prioritizedManages multiple tasks, reports progress and meets assigned deadlinesMaintains detailed implementation documentation and updates as neededTravel required to support systems during upgrades and other systems eventsCapable of working alone in a proactive manner without supervisionQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience Strong Cisco switching and wireless skills and experience in large deploymentsExperience and knowledge of routing, SD-WAN, Firewall, VOIP, Network application tools, automation and cloud migration CCNA certified, CCNP a bonusProven experience installing and configuring networks for 4+ years.Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressureExperience installing, configuring, customizing and supporting enterprise applications such as (switches, Routers, access points, Firewalls)Ability to multitask and prioritize under pressure.Strong time management, analytical and problem-solving skillsPrevious experience following change management and change control processesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWorking on and away from site with a firm understanding of Canadian, American, and South American cultureExperience working both independently and as part of a teamNetwork segmentation experience desirablePalo Alto/Checkpoint/FortiGate Firewall certification desirableWorking on Velocloud SD-WAN will also be a plus but not essentialStrong Cisco knowledge of routing and switching and including wireless infrastructure4+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networks across various disciplines, this also includes site surveys and procurement of network hardwareABOUT DP WORLDTrade is the lifeblood of the global economy, creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for people around the world.
