Maintenance Director

gpac is working with a manufacturer in need of a Director of Maintenance. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a multi-skilled maintenance team and play a key role in safety, compliance, and sustainability efforts. The role also involves managing capital projects and working with advanced maintenance systems to maximize uptime.Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of all production equipment, utilities, building systems, and grounds.- Ensure reliable performance of ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, boilers, HVAC, electrical distribution, water, and wastewater systems.- Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.- Maintain documentation and compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, OSHA, EPA, and local building and fire codes.- Manage direct oversight of contractors onsite, including refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, and structural service providers.- Maintain efficient spare parts inventory and vendor performance. Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).- 8+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in food or frozen manufacturing.- Strong technical knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, utilities, and production automation.- Demonstrated regulatory compliance with SQF/GFSI, sanitation design, OSHA/EPA, and PSM standards.- Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and capital projects.- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
