Casual Worker

Purpose This is a Temporary position, generally lasting for several months, with the potential to provide an opportunity for a full time position. Performs manual work which may include, but not limited to: grounds/facilities maintenance and repair using a wide variety of equipment/tools.  Minimum Qualifications Education, Training & Exprerience - High School Diploma/GED supplemented by previous experience in grounds/facilities maintenance or construction.  Possession of and ability to maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.  Job Description PERFORMANCE APTITUDES Data Utilization: Requires the ability to compile, assemble, copy, record and/or transcribe data and/or information according to a prescribed schema or plan. Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference data and information, such as work orders. Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Functional Reasoning: Requires ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Involves routine work according to clearly prescribed standard practices, with some latitude for independent judgment. Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise the judgment required in situations characterized by repetitive or short cycle operations covered by set procedures or sequences. ADA COMPLIANCE Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (20-50 pounds) and occasional heavier objects, etc. (up to 100 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate depths. Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Environmental Factors: Tasks may risk exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise and machinery.
