AV Fleet Data Recording Systems Engineer

Job Description The Role:The AV Fleet Data Recording team is responsible for the Design, Requirements, Integration, Validation and Execution of AV Data Recording Pipeline. As a Systems Engineer in the AV Fleet Data Recording team, you will be responsible for gathering and documenting the requirements and use-cases utilizing the Fleet Data Recording pipeline (SLU). You will also be involved in initial integration and execution of the new functionality developed. As we move into the future of AV, ensuring we have the right data to understand our product performance and drive decisions is a top priority.This engineer will be working on production level software/calibrations and doing hands-on work in vehicles, on benches, and in simulation environments. What You'll Do:Understand the different customer use cases for data and decompose the PRD into Feature Level Spec defining the strategy for data collection solutions/designUnderstand algorithms in your area of responsibility and participate in developing and improving software, calibration quality and efficiencyIntegrate new Data Recording SW into vehicles, benches or simulation as requiredDefine test cases for new use cases and functionality addedEfficiently collect and analyze the test dataLead the triage of issues and communicate bugs and issues directly with software teamsUnderstand vehicle proliferation and regional cal differences.Design tests to efficiently find opportunities for design improvementsMake recommendations based on work completed, share lessons learned with the team members and keep EGM informed of assignment status, timing, and technical issuesYour Skills & Abilities:3+ years of overall engineering experienceBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical EngineeringDemonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional discipline activityThorough knowledge of complex mechanical and electrical conceptsHigh level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complexStrong ability to work with computer-based tools to collect and analyze dataHigh level of oral and written communication skillsAbility to travel as needed to support product development and testing What Will Give You a Competetive Edge:DFSS Black Belt2+ years of experience with Systems Engineer and familiarity with requirements management tool (DNG)2+ years of automotive experience in testing, development, and calibration (preferably with ETAS/INCA calibration tools)1+ years of experience working in Matlab/SimulinkExperience with Serial Data busses, including LIN, CAN, GMLAN, Flexray and EthernetExperience with QNX Momentix and working in Azure EnvironmentHands on programming experience with Python or other shell scriptingFamiliar with Android Studio and WiresharkExperience working inside QNX Environment*This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis. * GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
