Description National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance abuse treatment facility in Arlington, VA is currently seeking Residential Specialists to join our Coed Adult Residential Treatment Program. This is a 24 bed program for our Transitional Living Program. Responsibilities include monitoring the therapeutic milieu and activities, responding to patient crises and emergencies as needed. This position assures a safe and drug free environment and provides Life Skills and 12 Step Education.We need PRN Residential Specialists who can work as needed. (Must work at least 3 shifts per month).Pay: $20-$25 an hour - with an opportunity to earn more based on experience, degrees, and other relevant qualifications.REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:High School diploma or equivalentCertification as a substance abuse counselor (CSAC-A, CAC, CSAC) required within 6 months of employment.EXPERIENCE:Minimum one (1) year experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting preferredKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Knowledge of addiction treatment and of 12 Step recovery process preferredCertified in First Aid and CPR, Medication Management a plusBilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
