Zero-G has operated for nearly two decades in partnership with other 121 air carriers. We are now in the next stage of carefully planned growth and moving forward to obtaining our own air carrier certificate.

Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT)

Zero-G is seeking to hire a qualified Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for performing maintenance in adherence to applicable specifications, procedures, and limitations as detailed in manuals, OEM manuals, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, CFRs and other publications governing the Company.
  • Responsible for notifying the Maintenance Control Center if there is a concern regarding component effectivity.
  • Responsible for ensuring airworthiness of maintenance performed on aircraft as assigned.
  • Required Inspection Authorization when authorized by the Part 119 Chief Inspector.
  • May be assigned to supervise personnel performing maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification or other routine or non-routine service work performed on aircraft and engines.
  • Reviews flight schedules and determines maintenance assignments in coordination with MCC and Maintenance Manager.
  • Communicates and coordinates with MCC regarding aircraft status, ground time, troubleshooting and repair. Responds to MCC requests for information, troubleshooting or maintenance action.

  • Represent the Company in a professional manner to all outside agencies.
  • In coordination with MCC, determines whether maintenance may be safely and legally deferred in accordance with DDG procedures. Carries out procedures for deferral of maintenance, including research, troubleshooting, required maintenance actions, documentation, and placarding.
  • Formulates corrective action plan for deferred maintenance items as required.
  • Coordinates ground time, troubleshooting, and materials requirements with MCC.
  • Ensures communication between Maintenance regarding aircraft status and incomplete maintenance to ensure that maintenance not completed as a result of shift change or other interruption is completed before an aircraft is returned to service.
  • May be assigned to perform oversight at essential maintenance events, including Letter Service Checks.
  • Ensures the proper recording, per GMM requirements, of all work performed.
  • Enforces safety regulations and practices, informs of policy and procedures to ensure a safe, reliable operation.
  • Coordinates the maintenance, tooling and parts support for all maintenance activities.
  • Initiates material requests for required parts and supplies.
  • Maintains technical proficiency and knowledge of the aircraft and engines operated by the Company.
  • When qualified and authorized by the Part 119 Chief Inspector, performs RII inspections.
  • When performing this function, the Technical Representative reports to the Part 119 Chief Inspector.
  • Identifies problem areas and recommends corrective action through technical interaction with maintenance vendors, engineering, and flight crews.
  • Travels with the aircraft as assigned to support flight operations.
  • Ensures maintenance personnel under their supervision are adequately trained and appropriately qualified to perform assigned duties.
  • Reports hazards or incidents as required by the SMS Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by their Manager.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a current and valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Must maintain company required qualifications and authorization for Airworthiness Release
  • 5+ years experience maintaining large transport category aircraft
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to travel with aircraft as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience maintaining B727 aircraft
  • B727 Airframe and Powerplant General Familiarization Training
  • Held Airworthiness Release, RII, and Engine Run qualifications
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with both line and heavy maintenance
General Requirements
  • Located within 50 miles of the Fort Lauderdale (FLL) or Miami (MIA) International Airports
  • U.S. Citizen or eligible to work in the United States without a sponsored visa
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment background check
  • Current, valid U.S. Passport and U.S. Driver's License
