Who are we?

The MISSION-Springfield team, working alongside the Springfield Drug Court and UMASS Program Evaluators, provides clinical wraparound services to participants referred by the Springfield Drug Court. The clinical team uses the evidence-based MISSION-CJ model to address co-occurring mental health & substance use disorder treatment and support the needs of adults involved in the criminal justice system. Supports include clinical case management, individual and group work and supports, baseline and follow up assessments, and fidelity logs.

What are we looking for in a Peer Specialist?

Personal lived experience in mental health recovery.Certification as a Peer Specialist.Knowledge of interviewing/counseling/recovery concepts and skills, including confidentiality.Ability to work as a team member, cooperating with other staff and follow through on tasks.Ability to relate and establish rapport with individuals served, family and service providers.Excellent communication skills.High motivation to work with a population in recovery.Spanish speaking language capability (preferred).MA Driver's License plus registered and insured vehicle for on the job use.Willing to work between 20-30 hours a week.
