Residents Rights Ensures that all care is provided in privacyEnsures all protected health information is kept confidentialReports all complaints made by residents to supervisorReports all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property Safety and SanitationFollows established safety policies and proceduresObserves safety needs of residents as indicated in care planWears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated and properly trained to useDemonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situationsPosition ResponsibilitiesAdministers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations in accordance with approved techniques and notes time and amount on resident’s chart.Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms and records.Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.Observes resident, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Nurse Supervisor or Physician of resident’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and reports to nursing supervisorRecords and restocks medication inventories.Prepares equipment and aids physicians during treatments and examination of residents.Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines progress of residents.Checks residents in section regularly; Answers call light promptly; Follows through with resident problems or needs by delivering care or reporting to supervisor depending upon level of ability and nature of resident need. Performs any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required. Certified Medication Aide Education Certified as required by state law.ExperiencePrevious experience in long-term care preferred.
