If you’re passionate about these values, join us at the University of La VerneULV’s Creative Writing Program invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach a single section of Creative Writing 307: Fan Fiction at the undergraduate level during spring semester 2026. The course is scheduled to meet Tuesdays & Thursdays from 12:05pm-1:40pm on the La Verne Campus. The spring semester runs from February 2-May 31 (with time for prep prior and grading post).Please include a cover letter indicating your interest in teaching this course, your experiences that qualify to teach this or related undergraduate fiction-based courses, and a sample syllabus for this or a related fiction-based course (please note that this course has been previously offered and some course materials will be available to the hired instructor).Responsibilities The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the Creative Writing Program. In addition, faculty responsibilities may include: Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the Creative Writing Program. Determine student success in applying material and assign final course grades from evaluation of reading responses, presentations, original creative work, and other assignments and activities related to course material. WorkloadAssigned teaching duties will be 4 units; minimal office hours may be assigned. Required Qualifications Must have an MFA or PhD degree in creative writing/fiction. The demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds.
