We are hiring a Director of Parcel to oversee our small parcel operations and our carrier relationships. This role will ensure the efficient and cost-effective delivery of parcels, maintain high customer satisfaction levels, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This full-time salaried position will report to the VP of Fulfillment.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and negotiate carrier contracts. Create pricing strategy to grow revenue and profitability. Manage cost performance (cost per package, high cost exceptions, etc.). Manage carrier performance (review carrier KPIs, are we meeting customer promises, etc.). Manage and develop team members. Design post-shipment experience for customers (key milestone and exception alerting). Build out and automate invoicing process. Design optimal carrier mix for current and ongoing business. Participate in sales presentations and business reviews to cover parcel topics. Travel to sites to understand parcel constraints and build relationships.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to respond to requests promptly and resolve issues quickly. Ability to lead a diverse workforce; effectively develop employees, and communicate objectives. Available during non-standard hours, access to a cell phone, and able to respond to after-hour emergencies.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree. Minimum 10 years of experience in the small parcel world.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

Work out of a WSI location or Remote. Minimal travel required. Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment. Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls. Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
