Position Summary:The unit clerk provides assistance for medical and nursing staff at KVC Hospitals Unit Clerks are responsible for adhering to the Employee Manual, Operations Manual and organizational policies and procedures in completing job responsibilities. When needed will assist with direct care of patients.Schedule:Tuesday-Saturday: 3pm-10 pmPay:$16-$19/hrPlus an additional $1/hr for evening differential or $1.50/hr for weekend differentialEducation:High School Diploma or GED from an accredited high schoolExperience:One to three months related experience and/or training in a hospital or other care facility. Experience working with individuals with behavioral problems preferred.Preferred Experience/Skills:Microsoft word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email.Certification/Licensure:At least 21 years oldValid Drivers LicenseValid Auto InsuranceCurrent certified nursing aide or certified medication aide preferredJob Duties/Responsibilities:Assist nurses with lab and xray ordersAssists phlebotomist with gathering patients for labs in the morningFiles and scans documents into EHR (ex lab results, faxes pharmacy orders and behavioral health tech sheetsAnswer and screen calls for charge nurseOrdering supplies-hospital and office supplies and stocking suppliesAssists in cleaning and organizing units to make them “Tour Ready” when necessarySubmits work ordersDaily log of the refrigerator tempsComplies unit census and updates bed list and risk status changesFaxes documents (RX refills, consents to admission, bridge to discharge, etc.)Coordinates client’s off site appointments and special services (IE: interpreters)Creates paper charts for new admissionsObtains vital signs and EKG as delegated by a nurseHelps coordinate discharges with the unit nurse and staff (print off discharge paperwork, enter discharge survey results, etc.)Scan ER records Labs and EKG into EHRWorks with nursing staff to ensure client photographs are up to date in paper and electronic chartsObtain medical records from other hospitals like ER or other psychiatric hospitalsFollowing up on orders of Psychological testing and Competency evaluationEnsures all printed orders has been transcribed and signed by PhysiciansAttends staff meetings as directedAttends and completes all required in service training and coursework on an annual basis per agency requirements.Join us:We’re an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
