Job TypePart-TimeLocationDowntown Salt Lake City, UTPayCompetitive hourly pay(Pay varies by property and shift length)$20/hour - sites that do not require a pickup truck$25/hour - sites that require use of a personal open-bed pickup truck(Pay varies by site and site requirements)ScheduleMonday through FridayEvenings onlyNo weekendsTypical start time: 6:30 PM or 7:00 PMTypical shift length: 1-2 hours per eveningJob SummaryWSI Trash & Recycling Valet is hiring Trash & Recycling Valet Porters to provide door-to-dumpster trash and recycling collection at apartment communities in the Downtown Salt Lake City, Utah area.This is a part-time evening job with short shifts, ideal for individuals seeking supplemental income and a predictable schedule.Key ResponsibilitiesCollect bagged trash, recycling, and broken-down cardboard from apartment doorsTransport materials to on-site dumpsters, trash chutes, or compactorsSeparate recycling and inspect for contaminationCheck in and out using a mobile appTake photos and issue Educational Courtesy Compliance Notices when requiredUpload documentation through the appClean up loose trash around dumpsters, chute rooms, and compactorsReturn all equipment to designated storage areasOccasionally assist with:Replacing pet waste station bagsCollecting bagged pet wasteManaging waste bins near doors, pools, or common areasShift LengthTypical shifts last 1-2 hours per eveningShift length may vary based on:Resident participationProperty size and layoutSeasonal or operational factorsPhysical RequirementsExtensive walking throughout apartment communitiesAscending and descending stairs at some propertiesLifting and carrying up to 50 lbsOutdoor work in varying weather conditionsSome communities require use of a personal open-bed pickup truckQualifications & RequirementsReliable, conscientious, and self-motivatedFriendly and professional when interacting with residents and on-site managementValid Utah driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicleValid auto insurance (as required by role)Must be 18 years of age or olderAbility to speak, read, and write in EnglishPossess a smartphone with active data plan and location services enabledAble to meet physical demands of the positionNo prior valet trash or porter experience required.
