Incumbents are also responsible for trail and volunteer programs at the assigned park or resort.Typical FunctionsDevelops environmental educational programs for resort and park visitors; organizes activities; interprets the natural and cultural resources of the park area; leads nature walks; develops brochures and the text for signs; constructs and maintains trails and displays within park nature centers.Conducts educational programs for schools, scout groups, and others at locations that may be outside the park itself.Prepares and submits required reports, evaluations and visitor surveys.Coordinates the activities of seasonal staff and volunteers who are assigned to the naturalist.Level DescriptorAt this level employees are assigned responsibilities for performing a full range of environmental education programs.
