A Texas school district is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a blended role that combines homebound services with middle school inclusion support. This position serves students with significant needs and requires strong collaboration with families, medical staff, and school teams. Position Snapshot: Location: Texas Discipline: Special Education Assignment Dates: ASAP May 22, 2026 Daily Schedule: Morning: Homebound instruction Afternoon: Middle school inclusion services Role Details: Homebound Services (AM): Provide individualized instruction to students who are medically complex and unable to attend school Work closely with parents/guardians and a dedicated 1:1 nurse to ensure safe and effective instruction Modify lessons and pacing to align with medical considerations and IEP goals Inclusion Support (PM): Support middle school students within general education classrooms Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student IEPs Collaborate with general education teachers to promote access to the curriculum Primary Responsibilities: Deliver IEP-driven instruction across homebound and inclusion settings Maintain ongoing communication with families, healthcare personnel, and campus staff Track and report student progress in compliance with district and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning Adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse academic and medical needs Requirements: Valid Texas Special Education certification Experience with medically fragile students and homebound services preferred Middle school inclusion experience strongly preferred Strong collaboration, flexibility, and organizational skills This role is well suited for a SPED teacher who values variety in their day and is passionate about supporting students with complex needs in both individualized and inclusive environments.
