Under the direction of the Chief Strategy Officer, the VP Orthopedics is accountable for the strategic direction, operational performance, and growth of INTEGRIS Health’s MSK enterprise. This leader drives systemwide integration and optimization across orthopedics, spine, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and related services. The leader ensures consistent, high-quality, and financially sustainable care across all settings.Serving as the executive liaison between administrative, operational, and physician partners, the VP Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service Line unifies programs, strengthens access and referral pathways, and enhances the overall patient experience. To achieve sustainable growth, this role focuses on optimizing service line profitability through analysis of payer mix, case mix, site-of-care efficiency, and cost structure alignment. The VP Musculoskeletal (MSK) Service Line plays a pivotal role in realizing this vision by building a unified, top-tier orthopedic program with regional and national reach.Primary Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership and Growth:Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year MSK strategic plan aligned with INTEGRIS Health’s mission and systemwide growth objectives.Identify emerging market opportunities, quantify demand and capacity needs, and lead initiatives to expand access, referral capture, and market share.Collaborate with Finance and Strategy to prioritize investments, evaluate ROI, and ensure alignment with long-term sustainability goals.Drive initiatives that position INTEGRIS Health as the regional destination for comprehensive musculoskeletal care.Operational Integration and Performance:Oversee operational excellence across all MSK access points—including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, imaging, therapy, and outpatient clinics.Standardize care pathways, operational workflows, and throughput processes to improve efficiency, reduce variation, and enhance patient experience.Monitor systemwide KPIs for volume, access, quality, and financial performance, ensuring data-driven accountability and improvement.Partner with analytics teams to design performance dashboards and translate insights into actionable initiatives.Access, Referrals, and Care Optimization:Lead strategies to improve referral conversion, scheduling efficiency, and network integrity for MSK services.Collaborate with ambulatory and digital health teams to streamline the patient journey from initial referral through recovery.Optimize site-of-care strategies to shift appropriate procedures to lower-cost, high-quality settings while maintaining continuity of care.Champion care redesign initiatives that reduce unwarranted variation and improve value-based outcomes.Physician Engagement and Workforce Strategy:Partner with consultants, system physician leaders, and IHMG on provider engagement, recruitment, and alignment.Develop co-management structures and incentive models that reinforce shared accountability for quality, access, and efficiency.Support workforce planning, including specialty mix, coverage models, and advanced practice provider integration.Foster collaboration across physician sections and facilities to build a unified MSK culture of performance and innovation.Governance, Communication, and Change Leadership:Lead the MSK governance council and meetings, ensuring coordinated decision-making across strategy, operations, and finance.Partner with Strategic Enterprise Solutions to manage A3s, workstreams, and portfolio execution for the service line.Create consistent communication cadence across leadership, front-line teams, and shared services to maintain alignment and momentum.Serve as a visible, trusted leader who models transparency, accountability, and continuous improvementKey Competencies:Strategic Vision: Demonstrated ability to design and execute multi-year strategic and operational growth plans.Operational Integration: Skilled in aligning multisite, multidisciplinary services into cohesive and efficient care pathways.Financial Acumen: Proven track record managing large P&L ($100M+), developing business cases, and driving margin improvement.Change Leadership: Ability to lead complex transformation, build consensus, and implement sustainable change across teams and providers.Physician & Partner Engagement: Strong ability to collaborate with physicians and clinical leaders to achieve shared goals.Data-Driven Performance: Expertise in developing and managing KPIs for access, quality, experience, and financial outcomes. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, with significant MSK, orthopedic, or service line management experience.Demonstrated success leading strategic growth, operational integration, and physician alignment initiatives.Strong executive presence and communication capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills necessary; ability to interact with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; customer service skills must be strong, genuine and noticeableAnalytical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret financial and other dataAbility to plan, prioritize, and achieve effective time managementAbility to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectivesEDUCATION:Master’s in healthcare administration, MBA, or a clinically related field required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:Experience with value-based care strategies, ambulatory surgery centers, and post-acute service integration preferred.Experience building destination Centers of Excellence preferred.
