Job DescriptionHere’s a Glimpse of the Job  We are seeking a Senior Research Associate to lead efforts in generating gene-edited cavefish and conducting behavioral testing. The associate will collaborate with other lab members to analyze data and interpret results, contributing to ongoing research projects.If you are ready to make a meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply Opportunities to Contribute Performing research experiments injecting transgenic fish, performing behavioral and morphological analysisGenerating probes and phenotyping fish.Maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook, writing manuscripts, presenting findings, and contributing to grant proposalsTraining graduate and undergraduate studentsQualifications Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study AND Four years' relevant professional experienceA well-qualified candidate would also possess: Graduate Degree in Biology or related field (M.S. or Ph.D)Experience generating transgenic fish.Experience with research related to cavefish.Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks.Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.Detailed understanding of gene-editing and transgenic methodology.Background in genetics and animal husbandry.Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.Strong organizational skillsSalary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract.
