Sr. Specialist Systems Engineer

ABOUT THIS POSITIONThis role will work with new and emerging technologies encompassing hardware and software. This role will be responsible for working with the Systems Engineering Manager to design, develop, configure, and document existing, as well as new, technologies and environments to be utilized throughout the Systems Engineering environments. This will include hardware, operating systems, load balancers, security, server platforms, & emerging technologies, etc.WHAT YOU'LL DOWorks in a cutting edge and continually changing SaaS datacenter environmentWorks with the Systems Engineering Manager on new projects that arise from business needsCreates documentation that will be utilized in the deployment and maintenance of new technologies and systems throughout the company’s infrastructureAnalyzes systems requirements and ensures that the systems will offer security, and will be effectively integrated with the current applicationsDevelops and maintains an open and fluid communication relationship with the Systems Engineering ManagerWorks with the Systems Engineering Manager to determine the production environment requirements and needs, with acceptable deployment timelines and roadmapsWorks with other teams to ensure successful transitions and the knowledge transfer of new technologiesEvaluates and communicates to the Systems Engineering Manager, areas that require new or improved technology solutionsBrings to the attention of the respective parties, any problems that negatively impact the company’s infrastructureDevelops and maintains a positive relationship with other direct team members and the team members of other departmentsPerforms other duties and projects as assigned by Management, within the area of responsibility for this positionMaintains network equipment, analyzes changes, and modifies equipment configurations as needed for business purposesWHAT YOU'LL NEEDOver 6 years of experience supporting servers and infrastructure in enterprise datacenter environmentsAdvanced proficiency with both Linux and Windows Server administration and supportProven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems independentlyDeep understanding of virtualized and physical server environmentsWorks autonomously while managing project priorities, timelines, and deliverablesExperienced in supporting and optimizing VMware vSphere environmentsStrong grasp of firewall architecture and security policy implementationSkilled in system monitoring and performance analysis using PRTG or similar platformsExpert understanding of SAN technologies and Fibre Channel fabric design and operationCapable of architecting and delivering solutions aligned with overall product and business directionExperienced in planning, leading, and executing multi-sprint technical projectsCommunicates clearly and effectively across departments and technical domainsDemonstrated success collaborating with stakeholders to tactfully resolve complex technical issuesExpert knowledge of TCP/IP and related network communication protocolsBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experiencePreferred SkillsAdvanced proficiency in VMware vSphere, vSAN, and Site Recovery Manager (SRM)Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP platforms for load balancing, SSL offload, and high-availability designsSkilled in designing and implementing Disaster Recovery architectures across multi-site environmentsHands-on experience with AI-driven automation, for workflow orchestration and systems integrationProven ability to design and support enterprise virtualization, storage, and automation solutionsABOUT WAYSTARThrough a smart platform and better experience, Waystar helps providers simplify healthcare payments and yield powerful results throughout the complete revenue cycle.Waystar’s healthcare payments platform combines innovative, cloud-based technology, robust data, and unparalleled client support to streamline workflows and improve financials so providers can focus on what matters most: their patients and communities.
