BI Analyst I

Currently, we are looking for a  Business Intelligence Analyst I - Solutions Development  to join the  ArcBest  team. The Business Intelligence Analyst I - Solutions Development supports ArcBest Managed Solutions which implements complex supply chain solutions on behalf of ArcBest customers that span various transportation modes and include logistics and technology capabilities across all business units of ArcBest. Solutions within this department are innovative and highly creative requiring complex reporting and KPI measures. This role requires expert knowledge of supply chain as well as an expert understanding of the development of complex supply chain solutions and the best practices in the industry to deploy them. The Business Intelligence Analyst I - Solutions Development is responsible for understanding internal/external customer KPIs and business drivers, source the relevant data, build business intelligence reports and tools, and maintain current systems. Your contribution may include: Drive the success of the ArcBest Managed Solutions department through the production, documentation, and curation of certified data sources that empower our stakeholders and clients to make data driven decisions. Work closely with business intelligence analysts, data analysts, data architects, data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to design and deploy efficient data models and pipelines that deliver useful data. Provide insights on procedures that would entail better data collection. Discover, research, and integrate new data sources. Provide timely, accurate, and actionable data to support tactical and/or strategic planning for internal and external decision makers. Obtain a deep understanding of how reporting affects strategic conversations with clients. Supply internal/external stakeholders with examples of feasible and proven successful strategies or data in supply-chain or operational reporting. Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer business models and their unique challenges to growth within their own marketplace. Grow and maintain expert knowledge of and continually train on all supply chain services and ArcBest subsidiary offerings both domestically and internationally. Research and obtain further knowledge of supply chain solutions and best business practices. Create and implement descriptive analytical reports and dashboards to drive business decisions and strategy after understanding stakeholder needs. Analyze user requirements and design functional specifications based on findings for BI solutions. Estimate effort and time needed to complete tasks. Design features that meet ArcBest’s design-guidelines and styles. Understand current BI Reporting design strategies and features. Collaborate in a team setting to accomplish overall department and individual goals. Facilitate structured in-person and hybrid meetings to align and build agreement among stakeholders and teams. Manage the life span of a reporting and analytics project, including data collection and integration, data modeling and validation, and report/dashboard design with implementation and maintenance. Test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and improve performance on business intelligence artifacts. Provide day-to-day support to business analysts. Responsible for on-going accuracy within reports. Other duties and projects, as assigned. As a  Business Intelligence Analyst I - Solutions Development , you will be a member of the  ArcBest Managed Operations  team in  Fort Smith, AR.  Your hours will generally fall between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and may include irregular and on call hours. A flexible working schedule may be available after six months of employment, subject to approval by the supervising director.
