Now Hiring Part Time School Bus Drivers — CREC Opportunities in Bloomfield, Hartford, and East Hartford, CTAs a First Student Part Time School Bus Driver you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of the students you transport. You will be there at the start of the students’ day with before-school pickup and at the end with an afternoon shift to bring students safely back home.No experience as a bus driver is required We’re proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed.Your day will include:A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in betweenA guaranteed shift of 4 hours per school day, no working nights or weekends unless you want toAdditional hours gained through trips and charters when availableSchool holidays off-- Some paidSchool Bus Driver benefits:$23.00–$32.50/hour starting wage, based on school bus driver experiencePaid CDL training*Child-Ride-Along Program – a perfect opportunity for working parents*Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits plus 401k Retirement Savings Plans (Benefits offered may vary by location or CBA)For our School Bus Driver roles, First Student encourages applications from candidates who:Do not have a college degree or high school diplomaHave military experienceAre returning to the workforce or looking for a second jobAre retireesAre looking to jump start a new careerYou might be a good fit if you:Have good verbal communication skillsAre at least 21 years oldHave held a valid driver’s license for at least 3 yearsAre subject to a drug screen and physicalThis position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
