SUMMARY Tax Specialist is responsible for all sales and use tax for a multiple jurisdiction manufacturer. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES File sales and use tax returns in multiple jurisdictions Update general ledger system for sales tax rate changes Work with the accounts receivable department to correct sales tax issue Determine taxable and nontaxable items for use tax purposes Research sales tax issues as necessary Issue and request exemption certificates Responsible for all annual filings with Secretary of State offices Responsible for all state and local business licenses Miscellaneous other items to support the tax function Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Must have prior sales and use tax experience in manufacturing Strong analytical ability and communication skills Must be proficient at Excel Must be detail oriented Must be able to multi-task and meet numerous deadlines EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma and/or 2 years of experience The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.
