Despite this, we still do not know or understand all the metabolic transporters and enzymes involved in shaping metabolism. The Kenny Lab uses systems biology approaches such as CRISPR-based genetic screens, metabolomics, organellar immunocapture, and human multi-omic datasets to uncover novel components of metabolic pathways. These insights, in turn, are used to understand metabolism at a fundamental level and discover their contribution to human disease pathogenesis. The postdoctoral fellow will use such approaches to expand upon ongoing projects in the lab and branch into new aspects of metabolism. Technical Duties: (include any protocols)Technical Duties: (include any protocols)Design and perform experiments focused on cellular and organismal metabolismLearn metabolic techniques including LC/MS-based metabolomics and isotope tracing/flux experiments using in vitro and in vivo model systems.Develop genetically engineered mouse models to dissect the influence of specific metabolites on organismal physiology and mouse models of diseaseMentor and train research traineesPrepare work for presentation, publication, and grantsQualificationsEducational and other Requirements for the position: PhD in Biomedical Sciences focusing on biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, metabolism, physiology, or a related fieldExperience Required: Experience working with mouse models and mammalian cell culture.
