This role is responsible for providing support to the tax department and assisting with the preparation, filing, and payment of both income tax and non-income-based tax returns and ensuring that the company’s worldwide tax positions comply with applicable US and local country laws to minimize the company’s overall tax liability. Candidate will receive training from supervisor and team members.Managing scheduling and appointmentsArranging meetings and other eventsManaging mail/fax communicationsConducting researchPreparing and/or editing documents, such as manual procedures, expense reports, etc.Performing basic clerical dutiesAssist with various tax projects. Candidate will receive training from supervisor and team members.Preparing simple tax filings, reporting and calculationsResolving federal and state tax notices and lettersContacting the IRS/states for information and/or to resolve various issuesMaking electronic tax payments onlineProcessing tax returns and mailingsCollecting and analyzing tax information from other departmentsCollaborate with accounting, legal, IT, and other departments to accomplish assigned objectives.Required EducationAssociate's degree in accounting, business or any other related fields.CompetenciesWritten and Oral CommunicationTime ManagementDecisive Decision-MakingTraining and DevelopmentRelationship ManagementIncome Tax LawsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesWorking experience in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel.Skilled in project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication.Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a cooperative attitude.Ability to work in a team and with personnel in other departments.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not supervise employees.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds.
