The ADON plays a vital role in ensuring quality care delivery, staffing oversight, staff education, compliance, and interdisciplinary coordination.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing department goals, policies, and proceduresHelp coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure comprehensive resident careParticipate in facility inspections and audits, and assist with quality assurance initiatives Support DON with staffing decisions, hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and performance managementEnsure accurate daily staffing levels and assignments, including oversight of RN, LPN, and CNA staffOversee infection control practices and ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and abuse prevention protocolsMake regular rounds to assess staff performance and resident satisfactionMonitor medication administration and care delivery, reporting discrepancies as neededProvide direct resident care when necessary and model clinical best practicesServe as a mentor and role model to nursing staff; promote professional growth and team accountabilityParticipate in care plan meetings, resident admissions, and discharge planningSupport development of in-service training, new hire orientation, and ongoing staff educationUphold standards for cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout nursing areasActively contribute to the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programRepresent nursing leadership in the absence of the DON Required Qualifications:Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institutionMinimum of 2 years of nursing supervisory experience in long-term care, rehabilitation, or a related healthcare settingAt least 6 months experience in restorative or rehabilitative nursing practicesCurrent CPR certificationDemonstrated knowledge of nursing regulations, practices, and long-term care complianceExcellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong commitment to resident rights, dignity, and individualized care Physical Requirements:Ability to move intermittently throughout the facility and respond quickly in emergency situationsMust be able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 25 lbs. and assist in resident evacuation if neededMust be able to cope with the mental and emotional demands of the positionVision and hearing must be sufficient to meet job requirements, with or without assistive devicesReady to take the next step in your leadership journey?Join us at Aliya, where your experience and commitment to resident care will make a daily difference.
