This role requires both deep technical expertise and strong leadership capabilities to support national security initiatives through advanced application development.As a lead engineer, you will guide a high-performing team building secure, resilient, and scalable systems that support critical intelligence operations—from data ingestion and analysis to real-time situational awareness and decision support.HOW A SOFTWARE ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACTTechnical Leadership: Oversee and guide the development of secure, high-performance software systems across the entire SDLC—from architecture and implementation to deployment and sustainment.System Architecture: Design modular, scalable, and mission-resilient systems using modern frameworks, cloud-native architectures, and secure development practices.Secure Development: Ensure systems are compliant with IC standards for cybersecurity, including RMF, ICD , and Zero Trust principles.Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with analysts, mission users, data scientists, and systems engineers to translate intelligence requirements into operational capabilities.Classified Environments: Develop and support applications within classified environments, working with containerization, virtualization, or air-gapped networks as needed. Needs to work individually as well as collaborate with the rest of the team as needed.Code Quality & DevSecOps: Promote software quality through peer reviews, CI/CD automation, test coverage, and infrastructure-as-code practices.Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and direction to junior engineers, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and mission alignment.Incident Response: Lead the resolution of mission-impacting bugs or vulnerabilities under strict availability and security constraints.WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:● Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
