Specific daily emphasis on recruiting, practice planning, motivating and mentoring student-athletes and game planning duties as assigned by head coach. Secondary emphasis on program operations support as it relates to logistics including budget management, team travel, equipment, alumni relations, social media management, community engagement and overall support and collaboration with athletics personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Recruiting Identify, evaluate, and recruit outstanding prospective student-athletes local, regional, national, and international. Establish and cultivate strong relationships with high school and club coaches. Participate in the planning and execution of unofficial and official recruiting visits. Maintain and manage recruiting logs and contact dates/times. Assist with promoting our University and soccer program through social media channels that align with strategic goals and initiatives. Student-athlete development and mentorship Assist with the instruction, assessment, and growth of soccer student-athletes. Assist in implementation and management of academic progress. Serve as active participant in student-athlete progress off the field in a holistic approach. Also generate and maintain student-athlete after graduation care model including mentorship of current student-athletes. Administrative Assist with daily administrative duties for all aspects of the program. Organize team travel to matches including ground transportation, lodging, and meals. Work collaboratively with head coach, equipment manager, and vendor on team equipment ordering. Contribute to the management and requesting of program annual operating budget. Plan, coordinate, and establish initial contact for program future scheduling. Review and evaluate practice and game video and prepare scouting reports.  Team building, game and practice planning Assist with organizing, administering, and supporting team building, practice planning, and game planning. Preparations involving video breakdown and analysis. Maintain practice records in accordance with NCAA and conference guidelines.  QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree One year of relevant coaching experience and/or playing experience, preferably at the Division I or professional level Experience identifying and recruiting outstanding student-athletes both domestically and abroad Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations A DMV background check is required for this role Preferred Qualifications Masters degree Experience coaching goalkeepers Current US Soccer Coaching license(s) and/ or FIFA approved equivalents HOW TO APPLY In light of its commitment to create and maintain a safe learning and working environment, employment with the University of St. Thomas requires consent and successful completion of a background screening.
