This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of food products while maintaining compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The superintendent provide direction to supervisors and support across production, quality, safety, maintenance, warehouse, and personnel management.KEY ACCOUNTABILITEIS AND DELIVERABLES:Promote a positive team environment, including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and communication Contribute to establishing standard work, processes and improvements and ensure they’re communicated across the production teamsProvide strategic oversight and leadership for day shift operations, ensuring alignment across production, quality assurance, maintenance, and sanitation teams. Foster a high-performance culture through proactive coaching, performance management, and effective conflict resolution, while driving operational excellence and team engagement. Oversee the training and performance development framework for the Production Supervisors, ensuring all personnel are properly equipped with the knowledge and skills required for their roles. Oversee compliance with established protocols and standards , and ensure consistent execution through effective supervision and accountability measuresCreate and Support standardizing processes and tasks for supervisors and operators across all shiftsLead and coordinate all production activities to safely meet daily production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules.Responsible for coordinating activities, tasks, and deliverables between shifts and departments Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and reduce waste,.Support and manage supervisor development and training opportunitiesSupport and lead department objectives, initiatives, and deliverables across all teamsSupport safety and quality initiatives, objectives, and deliverables across all teamsDirects the flow of materials to assigned areas to maintain a smooth flow of workManage team time off requestsProvide strategic oversight to ensure timely resolution of employee concerns, facilitating appropriate escalation to Human Resources or the Operations Manager as needed. Partner with HR to address employee relations matters and guide frontline leadership in the consistent application of disciplinary protocols, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.Regularly walk the production floor throughout each shift, ensure safety and quality requirements are being met.Promote safety throughout the assigned area where the crew is workingFollow all plant safety and GMP rules and regulationsAbility to read and understand required paperwork, and ensure operators are completing required paperwork properlyAssist where needed/required in all food safety and quality issues or programsEnsures all quantitative and qualitative measures in the operating plan are met, including those related to Line Efficiencies, Losses, Health & Safety and compliance with GMPs and Food Safety/QualityResponsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionAll other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience with exposure to the product formulation, processing, and packaging functions preferred)Ability to learn all production linesQUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferredEducation in HACCP (Food Safety) and Food Quality preferred Understanding of safety regulations centered around food productionPERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:High energy level with good interpersonal skills Ability to follow established procedures and good manufacturing practicesSelf-StarterTeam Player CollaborativeSupportivePro-activeStrong communicatorCoordinatorEfficientOrganizedADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:Base starting salary ranges from $k - $k/year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
