Human Resources Generalist

Job Description Atlas Molded Products, (a division of Atlas Roofing Corporation)  is seeking a multi-site  Human Resources Generalist  for the  Kansas City Shape and Kansas City Block locations. The Human Resource Generalist supports company initiatives by overseeing the hourly recruitment and onboarding process, engagement/fun committee, and various administrative duties between plants. This position ensures policies and procedures are enforced fairly and consistently across facilities, working closely with the HR Manager and Senior HR Manager to stay informed of employee and plant related concerns. The HR Generalist reports directly to the Senior HR Manager. While mostly a consistent schedule, this position supports 2 shifts and requires some flexibility. This position must also be able to provide various levels of support in person and in a remote environment. Human Resources Generalist Duties and Responsibilities :  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Conducts recruitment efforts for multiple plants at one time: including writing and placing job advertisements, screening, interviewing, and assisting with the selection process. Also works with agencies for temp placements across facilities. Also works closely with the HR Manager regarding Salary hiring. Conducts new hire and benefits orientations. Processes paperwork and addresses employees' questions about benefits, payroll, and company policies.  Processes and administers FMLA and ADA requests, in conjunction with AMPs third party provider. Monitors and assists with the performance evaluation program. Works closely with the HR manager to guidance to managers on the appropriate use of company policies and procedures. Works closely with the HR Manager regarding employee relations concerns and investigations. Facilitates meetings, gathers statements, acts as a witness, etc. Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data to make recommendations for improving retention.  Maintains the HRIS records and compiles reports from the database. Maintains electronic HR files in accordance with company policy and applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.  Conducts various trainings as requested. Attends meetings and seminars; works cooperatively with other HR team members and departments. Provides HR remote support to other facilities as necessary. Actively participates with various committees to support departmental goals and initiatives. Performs audits and ensures compliance within the department. Can generate reports, interpret data, and complete monthly HR metrics. Leads and coordinates employee engagement program on monthly basis. Participates in planning, purchasing, and set up/tear down of events. All other duties as assigned.  Human Resources Generalist Education and Experience:   A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field and 2 years of human resource experience; or any combination of education, training or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Human Resources Generalist Preferred Experience and Certification:  Prior HR generalist experience.  Prior business experience and/or manufacturing experience. Human Resources Generalist Work Environment:   This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies such as laptops, computers, smart phones, multi-function copiers and filing cabinets. Human Resources Generalist Travel:   Travel between both KC facilities weekly, as well as traveling infrequently nationwide. National travel: 10-15%.
