Garfield Park Academy is seeking a motivated full-time (10-month position) Special Education Middle School Teacher in a small, departmental classroom. Here, classroom teachers are valued members of our special education teams that include teachers, aides, social workers, and therapists. Together, they implement the evidence-based Teaching Family Model to support meaningful social and academic learning and healthy decision-making among students with behavioral challenges and learning issues. New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) certification is preferred. One year of teaching experience is preferred. At least one year of Special Education teaching is preferred.Garfield Park Academy instructional staff are thoroughly trained and mentored in the Teaching Family Model.
