Software Engineer - MMDOverview:Limelight's Multi-device Multimedia Delivery (MMD) team focuses on delivering customer source audio/video content to all devices across the globe via real-time transcoding and packaging into all major HTTP adaptive bitrate streaming protocols. As part of the MMD team, the Software Engineer will assist in all aspects of the software development life-cycle, from communicating with product management through development, QA, and deployment/maintenance. Essential Functions:Passionate and self-motivated Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and distributed environment while providing exceptional visibility across all organizations including actively participating in daily scrums, and all communication methodsDrive efficiency improvements in the deployment and management of systems and servicesSupport and maintain existing applications and platforms adding new features and improving performance and operability, including monitoring, automation and configuration management.Design, implement, evaluate, and recommend solutions to complex problems in a large multi-tiered enterprise environmentCollaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions and enforcing coding standardsMaintain a positive demeanor and a high level of professionalism at all timesAbility to travel occasionally as necessaryOther duties as assigned by managementMinimum Experience / Education:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience2+ yrs experience in C/C++ ,Unix or Linux systemsWeb services with implementation practice of HTTP, REST, XML, etc...Version Control such as Git, Continuous Integration such as Jenkins, Configuration management such as SaltStackExcellent coordination, planning and written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working within a distributed team environmentValued Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of digital video standards such asMP4 and ISM containersh.264, h.265, and aac codecsAdaptive Bitrate protocols: HLS, DASH, MSS, HDSExperience with Apache or NGINX modulesSome experience with Go FreeBSDTCP networking fundamentals, and use of tools such as tcpdump, wireshark, etc...Ability to document technical information and track tasks and projects on a daily basis and in a clear and concise manner.
