In the first sentence of your cover letter, please mention a movie you’ve seen or book you’ve read in the past year—and tell us what made it memorable to you.Compensation:$100,000+ yearly DOEResponsibilities:Help effectively solve legal problems for clients by analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of actionDraft pleadings, motions, contracts, and marital settlement agreements, handle the division of marital assets, judgments, and orders for a high volume of casesAttend court proceedings as needed to ensure effective representation of clientsCollaborate with attorneys and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation processConsult with potential clients to ascertain their needs and decide on the next stepsEngage in matter management to ensure timely progress in all casesConfirm all work is consistently quality-reviewed for case law and written content/clarityQualifications:License to practice law in South Carolina4+ years of experience working in a law firm on family law issues, with sufficient experience to work independently on certain cases and retain new clientsExperience with billing and keeping track of billable time on casesGreat negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situationsTeam-oriented, flexible, organized, and willing to work across office locations when needed is a plusSelf-starter who will take the proactive initiative to complete priorities on a daily basisAbility to creatively problem-solve and come up with workable solutions, figure things out on your ownMust be willing to travel locally around Charleston and Beaufort, as well as the surrounding area, for mediations, depositions, and courtAbout CompanyWe are a fast-growing regional Family and Elder Law Firm with multiple offices in NC and SC. We are looking for members to add to our team who are fierce, strong, and compassionate as well as ethical, professional, and trustworthy.
