Our proven success is largely due to our established set of teaching practices and school structures based on three core principles: personalized relationships intellectual challenge culturally & linguistically responsive and relevant content To learn more about Fenway, visit General Position Description: Fenway High School is seeking a visionary and dynamic individual to serve as an educational leader in our school. We are looking for a highly motivated, exceptional, results oriented professional who is committed to high standards of performance and achievement by both students and educators. Reports to: Head of School Responsibilities: Assists in the supervision of all staff and assumes the duties of the Head of School when he/she is not on the premises. Implements the Code of Discipline and maintains the safety and security of the building and grounds. Supervises the arrival and departure of students; supervises the behavior of students in the common areas of the building and grounds. Seeks funding to enhance the cultural and academic programs at the school. Uses data to guide academic goals to assist the Head of School in Whole School Improvement. Assists the Head of School in his/her managerial duties including: Supervises maintenance of the building and grounds  Coordinates purchases and delivery of supplies and equipment  Supervises maintenance of personnel and student records  Prepares reports and statistics of school operations  Prepares and maintains the master schedule within planning parameters established by Head of School  Implements the attendance policy  Serves as liaison between the school and the transportation providers. Supervises substitute teachers, including arranging for coverage, ensuring that substitute folders are up to date and available for monitoring and evaluating performance. Assists the Head of School in planning activities including coordinating curriculum, instruction, student's, volunteers and parent activities, and student support services. Engages the wider community to support school goals. Writes evaluations for all assigned teachers and support staff. Assumes all other related duties as requested by the Head of School. Key Competencies: Strong leadership skills, understanding of adult learning, and a deep commitment to supporting all students to achieve at high levels. Knowledge of teaching and learning effective practices and improving a strong school learning environment. Strong interpersonal skills to work with students and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds to work towards a fully pluralistic school. Qualifications Required: Masters Degree in Education or related field. Three (3) years experience successful teaching experience Massachusetts license for School Principal/Assistant Principal (grades specific) and SEI Endorsement. Demonstrated leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, administrators and parents. Ability to establish a multi-cultural atmosphere that enhances individual growth and promotes a positive self-image. Experience with budget preparation and implementation. Advanced technology skills Experience with full process involved in development and implementation of master schedule. Preferred: Experience as a school administrator. Spanish speaking. Working Conditions Fenway is a “Pilot School.” Teachers selected to work at Fenway are members of the Boston Teachers Union (BTU), but agree to work under the terms of a site-based agreement, rather than the BPS/BTU Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
