Production TechnicianROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARYAs a Production Technician, you will play a vital role in a team of Operations professionals building inflight connectivity solutions connecting aircraft to harnessing the true power of inflight internet to improve how passengers fly and airlines operate. We bring flexibility and performance to airlines and passengers alike across every device, every flight, everywhere.Production Technicians perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment. Production Technicians performs in-house servicing and repair of company products at established company repair site or service center. Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures using established procedures. Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products. Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues.  PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY RESULT AREASGeneral Focus:Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and provide feedback on the production floor.Collaborate with and contribute to continuous improvement projects.Recognize and act accordingly to differences between production and rework processes and units.Understand and assist with any inventory transactions and data recording required for Intelsat’s products.Assist with physical inventory requirements as required. Manufacturing Focus:Learn, understand, and use the processes and procedures for producing products.Assist with the timely completion of manufactured assemblies while maintaining the highest quality levels of workmanship.Demonstrate a basic understanding for electro-mechanical assemblies and corresponding systems.Assist in the provisioning of products to prepare them for testing.Inspect and test, per required Manufacturing Test Procedure (MTP) or Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI) to finalize a high-quality product.Assist with troubleshooting of failed product to determine the failed sub-component.Assist with maintaining AS9100 production test requirements and certification.         Repair Focus:Learn, understand, and use the processes and procedures for troubleshooting and repairing products.Recognize and act accordingly to differences in processes between customer and Gogo owned units.Able to assemble/disassemble, repair or replace subassemblies and/or assemblies to produce an acceptable product without damage to components or assemblies.Assist in the testing of customer-returned products.Assist with the timely completion of quotation and repair phases while maintaining the highest quality levels of workmanship.Diagnosis, test, maintain, and repair product subassemblies and/or assemblies to produce an acceptable product without damage to components or assemblies.Inspect and test, per required Manufacturing Test Procedure (MTP) or Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI) to finalize a high-quality product.Maintains records of troubleshooting and repairsOperate Test Stations for diagnostic and testing purposes.  Applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose cause of malfunction.  COMPETENCIESOrganization & Time Management SkillsStrong Interpersonal & Communication SkillsDemonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and provide feedback.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMinimum of a high school diploma3-5 years of related aerospace experience.AS9100 Experience OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS Prior experience working on IFE/IFC hardware.Skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook div.content {background: #FFFFFF;}div.joqReqDescription { background: #FFF repeat-yimportant;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serifimportant;text-align:left; color:#000;width:700pximportant; margin:0 autoimportant; position:relative; -webkit-column-count: 1; /* Chrome, Safari, Opera */ -moz-column-count: 1; /* Firefox */ column-count: 1;padding-top:0px;padding-left: inherit;padding-bottom:50px;font-size:14px}div.joqReqDescription div.image-box { width: 700px;text-align: center;display: block;padding: 0 0 35px;}div.joqReqDescription p, div.joqReqDescription ul{ font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serifimportant;margin:0 15px;padding-bottom:12px;}div.joqReqDescription li{ padding-bottom:6px;}/*position: absolute;height: 389px;}div.joqReqDescription div.imagebox2 {text-align:center;}*/SES and its Affiliated Companies are committed to providing fair and equal employment opportunities to all.
