Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.            About the role:We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer - 3D Visualization to join our fast-paced, collaborative development team working on the Opal HDx Mapping System—a state-of-the-art cardiac mapping platform used to visualize and treat cardiac arrhythmias. This role offers the opportunity to design and develop intuitive 3D visualizations and user interfaces that power a real-time, virtual representation of the human heart. As part of the software development team, you will lead the creation of high-performance rendering and workflow tools. You will collaborate closely with hardware engineers, systems engineers, clinical teams, and field technicians to create cutting-edge tools for physicians and care teams. The role will involve full lifecycle software development, including requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and validation. Your responsibilities will include:Generate UI concepts and implement prototypes to gather user feedback on workflow and usabilityDesign and build elegant solutions for complex clinical problems in user interaction and visualizationLead enhancements for real-time 3D rendering and advanced visualization technologyCollaborate effectively with hardware, systems, quality, and test teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrityParticipate in preclinical system experiments with physicians and third parties to evaluate system performanceImplement, test, troubleshoot, and debug source code for complex medical software applicationsDrive software development through the full product lifecycle, including requirements, design, planning, code reviews, and documentationContribute to technical documentation such as design specifications, test plans, and user manualsFoster a culture of pragmatic decision-making and cross-functional collaborationIdentify and drive continuous improvements in development tools and processesSupport field clinical staff with software use and issue troubleshooting Required Qualifications:BS or MS in Computer Science or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years' experience in software developmentStrong programming experience in C++Experience with OpenGL and 3D graphics programmingSolid understanding of object-oriented programming principlesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to understand user needs and design intuitive user interfacesAbility to manage multiple projects in parallelExperience with full software development lifecycle processesStrong communication skills, both written and verbalPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Qt (QML is a plus)Experience developing on Linux platformsFamiliarity with Agile and Scrum methodologiesUnderstanding of medical device standards such as IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, ISO 13485Experience with software tools such as Git, Jira, and JAMAExperience mentoring junior engineersQuick learner with adaptability to master complex systems and new technologies Working conditions:Hybrid work modelTravel: 0–10% About our product Opal Mapping System:http://www.bostonscientific.com/en-US/medical-specialties/electrophysiology/cardiac-mapping-system.html    Requisition ID: 617491 Minimum Salary: $ 103700 Maximum Salary: $ 197000  The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role.
