You will need to join the meeting on Teams or dial in by phone.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObserves grounds and buildings to detect suspicious activities or circumstances.Prepares reports and maintains security logs.Reports suspicious person(s) if unable to safely inquire into the nature of their business at the location.Apprises the person of the rules and regulations governing their presence on the center property and warns the violator of the penalties of infractions. Calls law enforcement officials to report the presence of unauthorized persons. Identifies persons suspected of minor violations and report them to law enforcement officials.Reports hazards, broken windows, and other conditions affecting the security of the building to other appropriate officials.Conducts monitoring of all smoke and fire alarm systems to ensure they are operable, free, and clear of obstructions.Coordinates work schedules and post coverage when needed.Provides relief for security officers when needed.Composes and proofreads routine incident reports.Detains unruly, belligerent, violent, intoxicated, and emotionally disturbed person(s) through the use of de-escalation or by the use of force if necessary for the treatment of incarceration.Monitors and communicates with local police, sheriff, fire departments, ambulance, and emergency management civil defense when emergencies occur to ensure preparedness by the Cherokee Nation properties for any disaster situation that may develop.Maintains a thorough knowledge of laws at federal, state, tribal, and city-level regarding activities within the facility.Responsible for greeting at the facility, giving directions and assistance, being of service, and rendering to any employee, patron, or person who may request or require it.
