KPMG is currently seeking a Health Actuary Senior Associate to join our Audit practice.Responsibilities: Be a member of our exciting, growing team that provides strategic, analytic, and technical support to our payer and provider clients. Provide support to our clients to assist with defining their strategy to maintain market share, margins, and achieve cost savings. Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems. Develop, perform, and review KPMG and Client analytics, workpapers and deliverables. Design, produce, and manage data applications to support actuarial and other data-intensive activities to support activities such as financial reporting, modeling, and advanced analytics. Act as a key liaison between clients and senior management, while supervising and mentoring associates, new hires, and interns. Identify and articulate technical matters to clients and management, and contribute to project planning, deliverable development, and technical writing.Qualifications:•Possess a minimum of three years of recent experiencein the health payer/provider industry contributing to projects involvingcommercial and government programs with a major consulting firm or corporateenvironment, emphasizing areas that include pricing, underwriting, financialreporting, data analysis, and risk adjustment•Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accreditedinstitution, with a robust academic foundation in actuarial science, appliedstatistics, financial analysis, insurance, and mathematics.•Demonstrate consistent progress towards achievingcertification as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).•Demonstrates a record of success (including automation& digitization) in the following areas:•Analyzing clients' medical claim data to understandhistorical trends and suggest opportunities to implement savings initiatives; •Writing medical cost and risk adjustment analytics tohelp clients identify sources of value; •Analyzing a company's financial statements findingopportunities to enhance their reporting; •Completing IBNR reserve analyses and assessingactuarial balances as part of year-end financial audits for health and lifeinsurance companies; and,•Researching business and industry trends to develop apoint of view to leverage in assisting with proposals and opportunities acrossmultiple lines of service. •Working with large, complex data sets to build modelsand leverage data visualization tools to provide insights to clients•Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage andprioritize multiple projects independently, with minimal supervision.•Be available for occasional travel as dictated byclient demand.•Possess a well-established understanding of businessdynamics and operations, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
