Chief, Comprehensive Neurology - Open Rank Faculty School of Medicine    Requisition Chief,ComprehensiveNeurology Department of NeurologyOpenRankThe Department of Neurology, Joe R. andTeresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio is seeking a full-time faculty neurologist to serve as the inaugural Chief of the Division of Comprehensive Neurology comprised of the outpatient general neurology and neurohospitalist programs. The Chief will be responsible for advancing the Division’s clinical, educational, and research missionswithgoalsofoptimizingpatient accessandfacultyproductivity;improvingthepatientexperience; increasingextramuralresearch funding;andsupportingtheeducationofmedicalstudents,residents,andfellows.Rankcommensuratewithexperienceandqualifications. The Chief will recruit and foster faculty and trainees, strengthen collaborative departmental and hospital partner relationships, enhance outreachactivities,andengagelocalandregionalcommunityphysicians. The candidatewilldevelopclinicalprotocols,clinicalpathways,andoutcome measuresto improve the quality and cost-effectiveness of care. The Chief will be expected to lead the Division to the next level in clinical care, research, and training. The candidate will supervise a vibrant team of academic neurologists who are providing innovative and individualized inpatient outpatient clinical care, educating thenext generation of neurologists, andconducting cutting-edgeresearch withina collegial atmosphere. The candidate will also participate in the care of general neurology patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting and the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.
