Occasional teleworking is permitted when unclassified software development may be required ***Job Summary:VSolvit is seeking a Software Engineer (Journeyman) with an understanding of Electronic Warfare (EW) to join our team at Naval Air Station (NAS) Point Mugu in Southern California. The successful candidate will work in this beautiful coastal location between Malibu and Santa Barbara at the Naval Base Ventura County, Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. Candidate initiative is desired in one who is an effective communicator and can learn EW Battlespace Autonomy skills quickly and intuitively. EW Autonomy expectations are the integration of autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies, typically powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, into EW systems to improve their effectiveness, speed, and adaptability in complex, contested environments.As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor, and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing tasks as :Software design, development, and deployment of EW Battlespace Autonomy custom applications and workflowsDevelop software solutions utilizing Object-Oriented Programming (Java currently)Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, adhering to best practices and coding standardsIntegrate security principles and best practices throughout the entire software development lifecycleImplement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment of solutionsCollaborate effectively with business stakeholders and other developers to understand requirementsCommunicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiencesStay current with the latest technologies and trends in software configuration managementDesire to expand skills in artificial intelligence and machine learningBasic Qualifications:Must be a U.S. CitizenMust possess Secret Clearance and hold it as a condition of employmentIf applicable: If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offeredBS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics3+ years of experience in SW design and development, coding and testingExperience with Agile/SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)Experience in Object-Oriented Programming (Java currently)Experience in Algorithm and Data Structure developmentExperience in Software Unit TestingPractice working knowledge of software version controlsGood written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Must possess Secret Clearance and hold it as a condition of employmentMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics6+ years of experience in SW design and development, coding and testingFamiliarity with US Military Manned Air platforms (EA-18G, E-2D, MH-60R, P-8) and/or airborne EW systems (ALQ-218, ALQ-99, ALQ-249, ALQ-210, ALQ-217, ALQ-248, EW-Pods) and their various support infrastructuresPractitioner Experience with Agile/SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and DevSecOpsExperience with artificial intelligence and machine learningExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of MBSE (model Based Systems Engineering) methodologiesC
