:Check bus fluids and maintain required levelsChange fluidsClean inside and around busesShift and drive buses in and around the garageSteam enginesChange tires (utilizing the appropriate equipment)Complete forms required in carrying out duties of the positionTraining:NJ TRANSIT’s Surface Transit Training Department offers comprehensive job-related training for all Servicepersons new hires. This may include, but is not guaranteed, support in obtaining a Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) or a Commercial Driver License (CDL)Education, Experience, and Qualifications:Light professional mechanical experience preferred; diesel experience a plus but not requiredBe twenty-one years (21) years of agePossess a valid NJ Driver’s License with three (3) years of driving experienceMust be eligible to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with passenger endorsement or possess a valid NY/PA CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement***Be able to work any shift in keeping with seniority-based scheduling.
