MAINTENANCE FIELD SUPERVISOR-CAMPUS MAINTENANCE-(T231275)DescriptionMaintenance Field Supervisor (Campus Maintenance)Position Summary:Responsible for planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance personnel in the completion of their duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:·Plans work activities and establishes work schedules and staffing requirements.·Assists Manager in interviewing, selection, promotion and evaluation of applicants and employees according to university policies and procedures.·Estimates job requirements, including staffing, equipment, parts, materials and supplies for designated work unit.·Trains group leaders and other employees in new or revised work methods and procedures and orients new employees.·Monitors the effectiveness of preventive maintenance program and provides information about new equipment and technology for program updates.·Resolves employee complaints and grievances, which includes attendance at complaint or grievance hearings and meetings. Initiates disciplinary processes when necessary.·Maintains safety and health standards to ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes and regulations, and University policies.·Actively participates in ongoing department training. Pursues specialized training and certifications to stay abreast of industry changes and to advance expertise. Uses assigned communication device to read and respond to texts, emails and service requests.Interacts with customers, visitors, students, coworkers and others in a friendly, helpful and professional manner.·Performs other duties as assigned.Starting Annual Rate: $60,835.00 - $96,198.84 (Commensurate with experience & qualifications)QualificationsQualifications:Associate’s degree in Business, Science or a related field, post-secondary vocation, OR technical two year school diploma, OR equivalent certification*, AND five (5) years of experience in commercial or industrial maintenance. Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience should show successful progression in responsibilities and demonstrated leadership skills.*Equivalent certification: Master card in plumbing or electrical, HVAC state contractor’s license, or NICET certification in industrial instrumentation and controls.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Work Characteristics:·Ability to multitask·Ability to problem solve·Ability to read and write well enough to be able to comprehend written and oral instructions·Ability to use personal computer, cell phone, tablet or other device·Ability to utilize e-mail on a daily basis·Ability to work as part of a team·Ability to work independently·Interpersonal skills·Organizational skills·Prioritization skills·Process improvement and quality skills·Ability to maintain records and files·Ability to coach, encourage and persuade people·Ability to train others·Conflict Resolution skills·Knowledge of performance management, succession planning, retention strategies and talent management.·Leadership skills·Written and Verbal CommunicationPersonal:MVR:Driving record should meet University underwriting guidelines to drive vehicle in performance of University business.
