What You’ll Do: Provide support and assistance in the delivery of direct patient care under the direction of the Urgent Care Provider (MD, DO, APRN, PA) Assure that physicians, visitors and family members are received and greeted, providing accurate responses in a friendly and courteous manner Administrative Tasks: patient registration, co-pay collection, scheduling of follow-up appointments with specialists, general office duties, maintaining supply inventory Review and prepare patient charts for completeness of clinical information for the appointment, ensuring appropriate diagnostic study/lab results for the exam are in the chart Perform, document, and report vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height/weight, peak flow and oxygen saturation; orthostatic vital signs; visual acuity Perform procedures (12-lead electrocardiograms, one touch glucose testing), obtain laboratory specimens not requiring invasive procedure, assist with dressings, splining, casting, etc. Appropriately and efficiently process physician orders under the direction of a Registered Paramedic with close attention to detail and accuracy File diagnostic tests in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy Arrange and coordinate for prompt outside services, transfers, scans, ambulance services, etc. as requested for maximum efficiency Note: Those working that are licensed as an LNA due to scope of their licensure will not be permitted to administer medications. What We’re Looking For: Required High school graduate with medical experience Experience in a healthcare setting Must be a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or AMMA credentialed Medical Assistant (MA) Must have current BLS certification (adult, child, and infant) Certification in COC and BAT within 6 months of hire Ability to respond appropriately to changing patient and staffing conditions; demonstrated ability to seek guidance and/or support from appropriate resources; knowledge of emergency medical treatment Computer literacy; ability to write clearly and concisely; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to give and accept feedback in a constructive manner. Preferred: Previous experience in a hospital/urgent care setting serving the same age/type of patient population Why Join Speare Memorial Hospital?
