Position Summary: The Supplier Quality Commodity Engineer (SQC Eng.) manages the supplier’s quality performance (timing, quality, delivery, service) from program award to launch and serial life.The SQC will spend most of his/her time at the supplier’s site to verify the progress and identify any potential risk of negative trends that may affect the product quality or delivery Responsibilities:• Provides relevant data to the SQL for the supplier risk assessment during the Acquisition phase and the sourcing process (SNC):o Current quality and delivery performance.o Competence depending on commodity and logistics scenario (Safety & Regulatory parts, pass-through, trade-sales, overseas shipment, etc.).o Capability depending on R&D knowhow and program management proficiency.o Capacity depending on laboratory equipment (Metrology, material testing), and manufacturing operations (Overall plant capacity analysis). • Manages the APQP elements until PPAP sign-off for all components nominated to the assigned suppliers, regardless of the program, during the Development Phase. As such, he/she will work with the Supplier Quality Leader (SQL) to supports the deliverables of the Program Quality Leader (PQL) and Program Purchasing Leader (Program Buyer).• Communicates and ensures the suppliers understands the deliverables and activities for each phase of the program, which include:o BOP Technical Specificationo Program timingo Customer Specific Requirementso Build events (Prototypes, first off-tool, slow-build, Meisterbock, pre-series, etc.)• Maintains internal database for supplier meeting minutes, performance tracking or annual audit status (Quality System, manufacturing process, Safety & Regulatory).• Issues a claim to the supplier for any quality issues during the development phase and follow-up on containment, root-cause analysis, and other problem-solving activities to confirm the effectiveness of the corrective actions and process improvements.• Supports the plant SQA and the Serial Life Buyers to follow-up and improve the overall performance of critical suppliers in Serial Life or to monitor the effective implementation of:o An Engineering Change.o A corrective action plan due to a quality issue or any quality audit.o A Production transfer.• Lead monthly Supplier Performance Reviews and monitor the closing of corrective action plans.• Commits to the highest ethical standards and adherence to:o Forvia Group Code of Ethics o Forvia Group Code of Managemento Forvia Group Environmental Policyo Forvia Group Quality Policy• All other duties as assigned by the company.Position SpecificationsAuthorities:• Reviews and approves in ePPAP database the uploaded evidence is on time and relevant for each APQP/PPAP element to meet the customer requirements with the corresponding Green/Yellow/Red status.• Conducts manufacturing process audits to validate Run@Rate and Temporary Quality Wall (EPC, CS1, CS2) at supplier site in development or serial life phase.• Requests immediate containment and correction of supplied product in case of product requirements are not met (fit, finish, function).• Performs a special manufacturing process audit in case of repeated issues in Serial Life (Supplier Red list, customer complaints, etc.)• Reports to upper management/leadership on supplied product issues or potential supplier risk (High turnover, high scrap, T&E deterioration/breakdown, unauthorized change or rework, over capacity, etc.). Escalation must be reported immediately upon observance of Safety & Regulatory non-compliance.Your profile and competencies to succeedEducation / Experience:Bachelor's degree (BS) is desired.
