About this unit 9 South is a 32 bed medical unit that cares for a wide variety of diagnosis and multiple chronic co-morbidities in the patients with an age range 18-100+. On our unit houses our ACE (Acute Care of the Elderly) program; This program helps to avoid complications for our patients 65+ so that they can return to their baseline function prior to their hospitalization and hopefully return to the home setting. The unit also sees a variety of medical overflow so you will never be bored. We have the capability to monitor 8 telemetry cardiac patients. Scope of work Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
