Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices - Special Education Itinerant Teacher - Astoria, QueensJob Summary:Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices (SKHOV) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Itinerant Teacher to join our team in Astoria, Queens. As a Special Education Itinerant Teacher, you will work with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in a community-based setting. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families.Responsibilities:Provide specialized educational services to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilities in a community-based settingDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each studentCollaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student careMonitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as neededParticipate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special educationRequirements:Master's degree in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or related fieldExperience working with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related developmental disabilitiesStrong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA and NYS regulationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBi-lingual skills (English and Spanish or other languages) a plusWork Environment:Part-time and full-time opportunities availableFlexible scheduling with some evenings and weekends requiredOccasional travel to Brooklyn and Bronx locations may be requiredCompensation:$70 - $90 BI-WEEKLYWhy Join Our Team:At Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers our staff to make a positive impact on the lives of our students and families.
