The department has an immediate opening for a Senior Information Governance Specialist who will perform various duties. Some of the critical responsibilities of this position include assisting in the development of agency retention schedules, analysis of program information governance maturity, development of agency data inventories, evaluation of archival records and information, responding to complex and varied queries relating to compliance and information governance, and assisting in the development of information taxonomies and information architecture.This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position. Expected work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage department requests for information regarding document retrieval, records and information management, retention, and compliance.Work with leadership to ensure documented information is maintained and preserved in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations.Assist in the development of information taxonomies that are compliant with regulatory requirements, Anoka County requirements, and industry standards.Maintain a comprehensive filing system and computer database for all document types, aligning to information governance maturity analysis guidelines.Organize and maintain documents, adhering to the county’s document lifecycle procedures.Assist the project team in all matters relative to project documents and the control and distribution of information.Adhere to information retention policies, safeguard information and retrieve data more effectively.Assist in the development of retention schedules and data inventory.Assist with file migrations and conduct audits.Perform administrative duties in support of the documentation needs of Anoka County.Train employees on information management procedures and policies, which include documentation, retention, retrieval, destruction and disaster recovery.Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements:Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities NeededRequires a bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of job-related experienceIn lieu of the required education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basisPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities NeededDegree in Information Governance, Legal, Business, Library Science or related fieldInformation Governance, Records & Information Management, Risk Management, or related accredited certificationStrong verbal and written communication skillsUnderstanding of core Information Governance principles Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projectsAbility to apply effective analytical methods to existing and new applicationsPhysical Demands and Work ConditionsStandard office environmentVision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers.
