The anticipated salary range for this role is between $97,000.00 and $156,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

JRI America, Inc., ("JRI-A"), is a subsidiary of the Japanese IT financial services company, Japan Research Institute Ltd ("JRI"), which is the specialist IT subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group ("SMFG"). SMFG which owns Japan's second-largest bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation ("SMBC") by asset size and a Fortune Global 200 company offers a broad range of financial services, primarily banking-related. JRI-A provides information technology services in the Western Hemisphere (including the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa)

As a QA Testing Specialist at JRI America, you'll be supporting multiple projects by collaborating with others to understand business requirements, developing test plans, creating and implementing integrated E2E tests, and ensuring that the Tests across our integrated applications are high-quality and functioning correctly. You will also contribute to QA strategy planning, development, and implementation to enhance our existing processes and incorporate improvements.

Role Objectives

Engage with business units to determine quality standards and application requirements as well as to develop priority lists for applications and features. Collaborate with application development team to design testing scenarios, identify bug root causes, manage remediation efforts, and communicate testing standards and practices. Partner with IT change management colleagues to coordinate testing and delivery of test results to stakeholders and product managers. Work with IT systems administrator to purchase and maintain testing infrastructure, deploy testing environments and tools, and aid in the testing of new hardware and network configurations.

Role Objectives

Design and develop test solutions in a cross-functional, agile environment Be our subject matter expert for testing enterprise software and other cloud SaaS platforms. Identify, evaluate, and manage the documentation and deliverables required for each project testing Work with product partners and developers to identify areas for improved efficiencies. Lead junior QA engineers and manual testers. An understanding of CI/CD pipeline and work toward our goal to "shift-left" in SDLC Develop a training pathway to facilitate the transition of manual testers to an automation role.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Expertise in black box and white box testing A good understanding of HTML, CSS, and other markup languages. Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the use of Test management tools – XRray, JIRA, additional experience in use of Confluence would be advantageous. Identify, evaluate, and manage the documentation of deliverables required for each project. High attention to detail and process oriented Possess a 'Shift-Left' QA mentality where Quality is shared and owned at all SDLC stages Comfortable working with globally distributed teams. Experience in payments related testing would be a distinct advantage. Proven ability to implement new processes and practices. Proven ability to lead and work as part of a wider team.
