$2,000 Signing Bonus Position Title: Upper Academy Math Teacher (Middle School) Position Summary The Upper Academy Math Teacher at ScholarMade Achievement Place is responsible for delivering strong, standards-aligned math instruction that prepares students for high school success and long-term academic growth. This role focuses on building conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills through intentional instruction, structured practice, and meaningful application. The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge, experience supporting diverse learners, and a commitment to using data and instructional tools to close learning gaps while building student confidence in math. Primary Responsibilities Instructional Planning and Delivery Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned math lessons that meet grade-level expectations and address learning gaps. Use structured lesson design that includes direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, and small-group support. Incorporate instructional technology and approved digital resources to strengthen skill development and engagement. Differentiate instruction to meet varied academic needs, including scaffolds, extensions, and targeted supports. Maintain high expectations while building student confidence and persistence in mathematical thinking. Data-Informed Instruction Administer and analyze formative and summative assessments to monitor mastery of standards. Use assessment data to plan reteaching, corrective instruction, and small-group interventions. Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to review trends and refine instructional strategies. Maintain accurate records of student progress using school-approved systems. Communicate academic progress with families and school leadership in a timely, professional manner. Classroom Management and Culture Establish clear routines, expectations, and procedures that support focused learning. Implement behavior supports aligned with ScholarMade’s culture model and emotional intelligence framework. Build strong relationships with students that support accountability and academic effort. Reinforce productive struggle, reflection, and responsible decision-making. Collaboration and Professional Practice Participate actively in PLCs, staff meetings, and coaching cycles. Work with Special Education staff to implement IEP and 504 accommodations with fidelity. Coordinate with intervention staff and academic facilitators to support targeted student growth. Engage in professional learning to strengthen instructional practice and content knowledge. Curriculum and Resource Implementation Implement school-adopted curriculum and pacing guides with consistency. Use supplemental tools such as IXL, Progress Learning, and approved math platforms to reinforce instruction. Support interdisciplinary connections where appropriate, especially in STEM-related learning experiences. Prepare students for assessments through aligned instruction rather than test rehearsal. Student Support and Intervention Provide small-group and individualized instruction for students requiring additional support. Participate in RTI processes and contribute to Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention planning. Collaborate with counselors and support staff when academic needs intersect with social-emotional concerns. Maintain regular communication with families regarding academic progress and support strategies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (required) Arkansas teaching license or eligibility for licensure (required) Middle school math teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills Experience working with diverse student populations and varied learning needs Comfort using instructional technology and student data systems Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics,or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Certification: Valid Arkansas teaching certification in Math or Middle School education. Experience: At least 2-3 years of teaching experience in Math and/or Science in a middle school setting preferred. Experience in urban education and working with diverse populations is a plus. Skills: Strong content knowledge in both Math with the ability to make connections across disciplines. Proficiency in using data to drive instruction and improve student outcomes. Effective classroom management skills and ability to create a positive, structured learning environment. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with students, families, and colleagues. Key Competencies: Ability to create a supportive, challenging, and engaging classroom environment.
