Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks professional, innovative, and detail-oriented individuals for our Manufacturing Engineering Internship in West Lafayette, Indiana. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. If you are a current student looking for an opportunity to develop your engineering skills, learn from industry leading engineers, and enhance your academic learning, then this may be the position for youA typical day as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern might include the following: Evaluating current floor plan utilization including equipment, storage, people and processes within our West Lafayette Manufacturing floor.Identifying opportunities to add addition production lines within existing Manufacturing spaceEmbracing the mindset: Understand. Simplify.Applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.This job might be for you if:You are a current student pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering or equivalent degreeYou have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesYou have working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent applicationsYou have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsYou have the ability to work cooperatively in a team environmentLocation InformationAll SEL internships are 100% onsite.
