Job Title: CT Technician – Radiology / ImagingRate: Up to $2500.00 weeklyLocation: Watertown, NYEvening / Night Shift (12H) - (Thurs. 11A-11P) - (Fri. 11A-11P) - (Sat. 7P-7A)Position SummaryThe CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality computed tomography imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and regulatory standards. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and confidentiality while maintaining efficient workflow and delivering excellent customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesImaging & Technical DutiesPerform CT scans according to established protocols and physician specifications.Verify patient identity and accurately review orders before each exam.Operate CT scanners and related equipment safely and effectively.Adjust machine settings and utilize proper techniques to obtain optimal image quality.Perform IV placement for contrast injections and monitor patients for adverse reactions.Maintain cleanliness, functionality, and safety of imaging equipment.Assist radiologists with special procedures and ensure images are available for interpretation.Patient CareProvide clear instructions and compassionate care throughout the imaging process.Assess patient condition and ability to tolerate procedures; modify techniques as needed.Observe patients during scans to detect and respond to any discomfort or complications.Uphold patient rights, privacy, and HIPAA compliance at all times.Workflow, Documentation & ComplianceAccurately document procedures, patient histories, and contrast use in the EMR/PACS.Ensure all exams are completed efficiently to support department workflow.Follow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA principles.Maintain required logs, quality assurance checks, and regulatory documentation.Participate in continuing education and maintain current certifications.QualificationsRequired:Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic TechnologyRegistered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology (R.T.(R))CT certification or eligibility (R.T.(R)(CT))Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certificationActive New York State Radiologic Technologist License at time of submissionMinimum of 2 years of experience as a CT TechnologistMinimum of 1 year of general Radiologic/Imaging experienceMust live outside a 100-mile radius of the facilityPreferred:Specific experience and formal training in radiology beyond minimum requirementsExperience with IV contrast administrationFamiliarity with PACS, EMR systems, and modern CT technologySkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of CT imaging principles and radiation safety.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to fast-paced environments.Excellent communication, patient service, and problem-solving skills.High attention to detail with accurate documentation and time management.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods.Ability to assist with patient transfers and lift up to 50 lbs.Manual dexterity for operating imaging equipment and starting IVs.
