As a Medical Appointment Specialist you will: 

  • Transport and assist residents on medical appointments.  Ensure all relevant medical information is obtained prior to the appointments and communicated at appointment.   Obtain necessary information from medical providers at appointment and thoroughly communicate to appropriate Arc Herkimer staff in a timely manner. 
  • Provide care and services, including but not limited to personal hygiene care, toileting, feeding, bathing, lifting, transferring and behavior management techniques as required. 
  • Professionally communicating issues of concern which occur while working at a home or on medical appointments immediately and thoroughly to oncoming shift or other staff as appropriate
  • Provide companionship, assist in emergency situations, and maintain health & wellness
