This role requires someone who can take ownership of test planning and execution, work independently with minimal oversight, and contribute to automation, integration, and validation efforts across a wide range of systems.You’ll be embedded in a collaborative engineering organization but are expected to own the quality of the features and systems you support. This includes defining test strategies, creating automation for repeatable tests, and using SQL and API tools to ensure data and functional accuracy. Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) or healthcare claims processing is a strong plus.This role looks like...Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and execute test plans and test cases across UI, backend, API, and database layers.Develop and maintain automated tests using Cypress (UI) and Postman or similar API testing tools.Validate data integrity and complex system behaviors using SQL for backend verification.Log and track software defects, providing reproducible documentation and partnering with developers on resolution.Build and maintain a reusable, risk-based regression suite mapped to high-priority workflows.Contribute to the evolution of automation frameworks and shared QA engineering utilities under the guidance of senior team members.Participate in agile ceremonies, release planning, and provide go/no-go recommendations based on test readiness.Proactively identify test coverage gaps and propose improvements to test processes, tooling, or architecture.Collaborate cross-functionally to test integrations, confirm system behavior, and identify issues at the seams of multi-service systems.Manage your own workload and testing priorities with minimal supervision.QualificationsRequired:2–4 years of experience in software quality engineering or test automation.Working experience with Cypress, Postman, or comparable testing frameworks.Ability to write SQL queries to validate application data and verify backend processing.Familiarity with Git, GitLab, or equivalent version control tools.Clear understanding of QA principles, defect lifecycle, and risk-based testing strategies.Strong written and verbal communication skills for articulating defects, risks, and coverage decisions.Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Preferred:Domain experience in healthcare systems, EHR platforms, or claims processing workflows (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12, 837/835).Knowledge of test case management and reporting tools (TestRail, Azure Test Plans).Exposure to performance (JMeter, K6, LoadRunner) or accessibility (axe-core) testing practices.Understanding of regulatory or compliance-driven testing in HIPAA-sensitive environments.Additional Details:This is an on-site (hybrid), full-time, salaried position at our Woodbridge, NJ office location.
